RESPONSIBLE LENDING PRACTICE

ABOUT US

wanna loan? was established in 2011 with the aim of assisting South African consumers with short-term, cash-flow problems. We are a level 3 BBBEE contributor and are 100% black owned. Our head office is nestled in the sunny city of Cape Town, South Africa.

We are a member of the following regulatory bodies and adhere to their code of conduct: A registered credit provider (NCRCP 6569); a registered member of the South African Fraud Prevention Service (Reg No. 89); and a registered member of the Credit Providers Association. Should you wish to view a copy of their codes of conduct, view the links at the end of this document.

We strongly recommend that you only borrow what you can afford to pay back within the loan terms. Our short-term solutions are not intended to meet your long-term, financial needs. As a registered credit provider, we are committed to the set of principles outlined below:

WE ARE ACTIVELY PRACTISING THE FOLLOWING:

Under no circumstances will we force you to take out more credit than you request. You determine how much you would like to borrow from us.

Our technology is built around ensuring that you have full transparency about your loan details: how much you are borrowing and your repayment terms.

We will always make sure that any loan repayments or late fees incurred are communicated plainly to you.

We do credit checks on your credit limit and status when you first take out a loan with us. We also take into account your credit history.

When our service returns your application status, you can be assured that it has gone through rigorous processes and is a responsible result.

If you are declined at wanna loan?, we will, as far as possible, furnish you with any possible explanations as to the reason for the outcome. If you are unsatisfied with our response and would like to appeal the outcome, you can write to our customer care department.

Our fair treatment policy ensures that if you experience further difficulties as a result of your financial situation changing for the worse, we will treat you fairly and respectfully.

We aim, as far as possible, to respond to any queries you may have within a 48-hour period; should the nature of your query require detailed attention, it may take longer to resolve.

YOUR COMMITMENT TO US...

We ensure that we treat you fairly and do the best we can to help you in making ends meet for the month. We are responsible for making all the details of your loan transparent (our slider shows your repayment terms), therefore, we urge you to only borrow as much as you can afford to pay back. This not only ensures that your debt to us will be repaid, but also avoids a negative scenario where you incur rising interest fees and charges as a result of nonrepayment.

We at wanna loan? believe that we can build a good relationship with you, and trust that, as we keep our promises, you will keep yours too.

OUR PRINCIPLES

Accommodating

Here at wanna loan? we aim to avoid situations where you may become overindebted. Our system helps us to ascertain your credit limit based on your earnings, credit history and how well you've paid your previous and current debts.

Our interest rate is fixed, which allows you to clearly see what your repayment will be and when it is due. We ensure that we follow the most recent legislation, and if you have never applied with us before, we will only be able to lend you R3 000. If you are happy with our services and decide to reapply with us, we will be able to increase that amount subject to our normal terms and conditions.

Transparency

As per the Consumer Protection Act and the Direct Marketing Association of South Africa's requirements, you will always be aware of the principal debt, interest rate, initiation fee and repayment date before you apply. We are so serious about being transparent in our dealings that we will issue you with a quotation before you even sign the loan agreement. There will never be any hidden costs nor catches. That's our promise.

Assessment

Just like every other business, we have meticulous checks in place to protect you as well as ourselves. We use credit bureaux in order to make lending decisions at the time of your application. We are also a member of the South African Fraud Prevention Service, and should your information be used by a third party, we will be alerted to it. Based on the information you provide, we are able to assess your application and come to a decision within minutes. Should you be declined, we will provide you with sufficient information as to why.

Short-term

Paying your debt on time or even earlier is always encouraged. Unlike most companies, we will never charge you a fee if you decide to settle your debt before the due date. If anything, we encourage it. Interest on the loan is calculated daily, therefore we only charge you for the amount of days you have the loan. Should you not be in a position to settle the loan early, we will automatically collect the full amount on the agreed repayment date stated on your application.

Rationale

Here at wanna loan?, we understand that your financial circumstances may change, and we encourage you to contact us immediately if you have trouble repaying your loan. We promise to never turn you away. Using the National Credit Regulator as our guide, we will map out a reasonable way forward whereby we both benefit. However, should you default on your extended plan, then we will be obliged to charge you extra fees, but within the ambit of the aforesaid regulation. You will be liable for the administration and collection costs.

Accessible

If you need to contact us for any reason regarding your loan, you may email us at talktous@wannaloan.co.za, or call us on 0861-189-200. We will respond immediately or within 48 hours at the latest.

If you are not satisfied with our proposed resolution, we can renegotiate the proposal and come to a solution that will suit us both.

We are registered with the National Credit Regulator and you are most welcome to contact them should you feel that you were treated unfairly, or if we were unable to resolve your complaint. You may contact them on 086-062-7627, or send them an email at complaints@ncr.org.za.
